New Barbershop Slated To Open In Vernon Plaza

VERNON, CT — A new barbershop is coming to Route 83 in Vernon.

A temporary sign emerged this week for The Man Cave Barbershop on the sidewalk of the plaza at 540 Talcottville Road, the local address for that stretch of Route 83. A marquee sign then followed.

The plaza houses Vernon Poolman and Signarama. The barbershop will be taking over and end space that used to house Center Pizza, a quirky but tasty takeout pizza joint that quietly went out of business at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Vernon Poolman owners, who also own the plaza, said the barbershop could be open as quickly as August, depending on the progressive's of construction. A construction crew members said the framing was going up Wednesday.

The barbershop will feature, among other things, a pool table, the Poolman owners said.
