New urgent care walk-in center ribbon-cutting celebration on Thursday, June 29

Former Battiston's Dry Cleaning building is being transformed into one of the most advanced and largest urgent care centers in the State

The official ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration of the new American Family Care urgent care walk-in-center at 179 Talcottville Road (Route 83) will be held on Thursday, June 29 from 5 to 8 pm. A variety of dignitaries will be present to cut the ribbon. The celebration is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Tom Kelly and Ron Krippner, the Connecticut-based franchisees, recently invested $1.5 million to renovate the former Battiston’s Dry Cleaning building into one of the most advanced and largest urgent care centers in Connecticut. The 4,300 square foot facility will feature six patient rooms, a digital X-ray suite and a state-of-the-art laboratory. The Center will be open seven days a week; Monday through Friday from 8 am to 8 pm; Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 5 pm. No appointment will be needed. Most major insurance plans will be accepted.

The new AFC urgent care center will provide nearly all of the non-life-threatening medical services of an emergency room, including treatment for illnesses, injuries, accidents, adult medicine, pediatric medicine, preventative care, lab tests, vaccinations, and physical exams. Occupational health services will be available for employers and employees. Two particularly relevant services for this time of year will be treatment of tick bites and vaccinations for summer vacation travel overseas.
