Parking, Environmental Systems Being Upgraded At 2 Vernon Schools
Summer projects are ongoing at a pair of Vernon schools this summer.

VERNON, CT — Two Vernon elementary schools are getting new parking lots and environmental systems this summer, courtesy of a state-administered Alliance Facilities Grant.
The grant is worth $477,000, Vernon Superintendent Joseph Macary said.
At Northeast School, a total of 9,580 square yards of pavement will be reclaimed in the parking areas and driveways, Macary said. The cost is $210,699.

The heating, ventilation and air conditioning system will be upgraded to the tune of $36,000, Macary said.
At Center Road School, 7,800 square yards of pavement will be reclaimed in the old parking to and driveways at a cost of $169,900, Macary said.

The HVAC system at CRS will be ungraded in a $33,500 project, he added.
The projects should be finished by the first day of school in September, Macary said.
