VERNON, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us to a rarely seen element on Prospect Street.
It's the basketball court at the New Hope Shelter and the community center at the Cornerstone Foundation.
Because of the building's configuration, the hoop has a unique setting among low-hanging beams. Layups come easy. Jump shots are a bit complicated.

Dunks might be hard because, at a quick visual inspection, the rim seems way higher than the standard 10-feet.
It does make for some interesting shots in a game of H-O-R-S-E.
