Picture Vernon: A Really Close Shave

VERNON, CT — Tje leest installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us back to the Vernon Historical Society archives.

It's a straight edge razor with a bone handle from 1900.

The stamp on the blade, fashioned in Diamondine, Germany, reads, "Otis Snow, Rockville, Conn."

Otis Snow (1836 to 1906) owned a hardware store in Rockville.

The razor blade came in a case with embossed with Snow's name.
