The popular Vernon Historical Society book sale is on tap for the end of this month into July after being delayed by the coronavirus.

VERNON, CT — The popular Vernon Historical Society book sale is on tap for the end of this month into July after being delayed by coronavirus restrictions.

All items were acquired before the pandemic broke out.

The sale will take place at the society headquarters, 734 Hartford Turnpike. It will feature both hardcover and paperback books over 85 different topics. Ficton works are alphabetized by the authors' last names. Others are sorted by category.

There is even a "media room" with assorted music. One corner even has vintage records. There is also a cookbook room.

The sale generates about a third of the society's revenues annually.

A preview event, popular with vendors, is set for Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $10.

Free admission days are on tap for:

  • June 26: Noon to 6 p.m.
  • June 27: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • June 28: Noon to 4 p.m.
  • July 11: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • July 12: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
