Retirement Marking End Of Century-Old Business Era In Vernon

VERNON, CT — The end of an era is Vernon business is well under way with a going of out business sale in full swing at Friedrich Jewelers.

The founding family is retiring.

The store has been around since 1913 and is currently located at the Vernon Commons shopping plaza, 520 Hartford Turnpike.

Signs, both on the sore windows and on the sidewalk, are advertising up to 70 percent off merchandise.

In a heartfelt message to the community, store officials said, "Since 1913, you have honored Friedrich Jewelers by including us in your celebrations of life and love."

The message continued, "Over the last 108 years, our customers have appreciated our commitment to exceptional quality, dependability, value and services passed down through four generations. These are the driving forces behind our business and (we) believe they show through in all we do.

Although bittersweet, the time has come fr us to bring this journeys to an end. In doing so, we welcome a new adventure — retirement."
