Route 30 Parcel In Vernon Primed For A Facelift
A parcel in a commercial section of Vernon is ready for expansion, officials said.

VERNON, CT — A commercial expansion a decade in the making along state Route 30 in Vernon seems primed to finally come to fruition.
That was the word this week from Vernon Economic Development director Shaun Gately.
The parcel in question sits at 1189 Hartford Turnpike, the local name for that stretch of Route 30. The Wine Seller liquor store sits at the west end of the land and a copse of trees are at the eastern end of the parcel, bordering a strip plaza anchored by Vernon Pizza.

Gately said plans have been in the works for the better part of 10 years to expand the footprint of the Wine Seller and add additional retail space to the parcel the could include two more business suites.
Vernon town planner George McGregor said the site plan was approved years ago and the owners finally seem ready to move on it.
