Scarecrow Contest at Strong Family Farm In Vernon Now In 9th Year

VERNON, CT — The Strong Family Farm's annual scarecrow contest is now in its ninth year.

The contest takes place in October and entries are being sought.

Each of the farm's fence posts on Peterson Road in Vernon Center will be assigned a scarecrow and special West Street fence posts are available to businesses for a donation to the farm fence project.

This year will feature five categories – family, youth group, adult group, business, and traditional.

Set up will be from Sept. 26 through October 4 and winners will be announced and receive blue ribbons at a socially distanced event on October 17. The event will be filmed.
