Multiple troopers responded to the scene, as did emergency medical personnel. The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was identified as Shawn Harris. Upon investigation, troopers determined that illegal narcotics were inside the vehicle.
A narcotics K9 team from Troop H responded to the scene. A search of a bag in the suspect’s vehicle revealed $9,000 in U.S. currency and a search of his vehicle revealed a rolled “joint,” which tested positive for the presence of PCP.
Harris was transported to Rockville Hospital in Vernon where he was treated and released.
He was charged with DUI/narcotics, as well as failure to remain in established lane, and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on Aug. 17.
