VERNON, CT — A fiery crash that wreaked havoc with Friday traffic on Interstate-84 last week began when a parked truck was hit by another, state police said in a crash report.

The crash took place at 7:06 a.m. Friday and traffic was tied up — and backed up well into Manchester — for about 10 hours.

According to a crash report, a tractor-trailer was heading eastbound on I-84 in the right lane. The truck drifted onto the right shoulder and slammed into another truck that was parked in the breakdown lane, according to a crash report.
