Strong Family Farm Store Opens for the Season

The Strong Family Farm Store, located at 274 West Street in Vernon, opens for our sixth season of business June 16! Last year, in spite of (or perhaps because of!) the Covid shutdown, we had our best year yet. We look forward to making 2021 even better!

Store hours:
Wednesday–Friday, 1:00–5:00pm
Saturday, 10:00am–2:00pm
Sunday, 11:00am–3:00pm

The Strong Family Farm Store sells all Connecticut grown local produce, dairy products, and more. Every dollar you spend, directly supports the farm and its mission. Farm Members receive a 10% discount on Sundays. And on opening day, the first 50 customers will get a free Royal Ice Cream Sandwich!

The past year has been challenging, but farmers have always faced challenges. We were fortunate to be able to continue some of our regular activities and programs, and are continuing them this year, like the Backyard Chicken Program and Raised Bed Gardening. In 2020, the Scarecrow Contest and the Annual 5K Chicken Run incorporated virtual formats in order to keep people safe while participating. This year, we’re pleased to say the Annual 5K Chicken Run will be back in-person around the Farm in September.

On the farm, we’re moving forward with more outdoor activities scheduled for the late summer and we look forward, as always, to having our annual Harvest Festival in October.
