VERNON, CT — A motorist blamed a section of "tall grass" for blocking the sight lines on a highway off-ramp and contributing to a crash that tied up traffic in a busy area of Vernon last week.

State police released details of Thursday's accident on Monday.

At two minutes after noon on Thursday, a 54-year-old Coventry woman was exiting Interstate-84 on the westbound Exit 64 off ramp, in a 2019 BMW X3, according to a report. She began moving forward onto Kelly Road but then stopped when the grass blocked her view of oncoming traffic, according to a report.
