Tentative Date On The Calendar For Vernon Annual Fireworks Event
Tentative dates are being discussed for both the July in the Sky fireworks event and National Night Out in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — Town officials are considering dates for the annual July In The Sky Fireworks celebration and National Night Out in anticipation of Gov. Ned Lamont loosening public gathering restrictions after May 19.
The dates are:
- July in the Sky: June 30 (with a rain date of July 7)
- National Night Out: Aug. 3 (with an Aug. 4 rain date)
The Rockville Community Alliance and the Vernon Community Network said Thursday they are on board with planning events those nights.

Vernon Town Administrator Michael Purcaro said it's all very preliminary and all is contingent not only on what Lamont lays out, but on town approval.
"It's never too early to start planning," Purcaro said. However, no official approval has been granted by the town yet. We continue to work closely with local and state health officials to assess our summer event programming options for our residents."
In other words, residents should mark their calendars and stay tuned.
