'Unlicensed' Masseur Charged With Sexual Assault In Vernon
A man who was practicing massage therapy without a license has been charged with sexual assault, police said.

VERNON, CT — A 57-year-old Marlborough man is accused of practicing massage therapy without a license in Vernon and sexually assaulting a woman in the process, according to an arrest report.
Christopher Gaudette was charged this week with fourth-degree sexual assault and violation of licensed requirements for massage therapy, according to an arrest report.
He surrendered at Vernon Police Headquarters after learning about a warrant for his arrest.

Local police began investigating Gaudette on Jan. 14, when a woman complained about him touching her inappropriately during a "practical massage," according to the warrant.
Gaudette is accused of using inappropriate language during the massage and touching the woman about the buttocks with an open hand, according to the warrant.

Police cross checks on Gaudette's resume led to two area massage businesses saying they had never heard of him, according to the warrant.
No records of a license were located by investigators via the state Department of Public Health, according to the warrant.
He was practicing under the name "Chris Gaud," according to the warrant.
