Vandals Deface School Playground In Vernon
A school playground has been damaged in Vernon early into the summer vacation.

VERNON, CT — Less than a week into the summer vacation, a school playground has been vandalized in Vernon.
"Disappointing," was the word used by Vernon Superintendent of Schools Joseph Macary when asked about the incident at Center Road School.
The last day of school was Friday.

Macary said he was notified of the vandalism at CRS Tuesday evening. By Wednesday morning, surveillance camera footage was being reviewed and Vernon police were investigating the matter, he said.
The vandals visited the CRS playground with gold spray paint and scribbled on a pair of signs and some of the slides. There was no discernible message to the spray painting.

Macary did not outline any course of acton for repair, citing the current investigation.
Vernon police said anyone who may have seen anything g suspicious in the area can call them at 860-872-9126.
