VERNON, CT — Vernon police revived a driver who had overdosed on heroin while on a local road over the weekend, a report indicates.

At 7:28 p.m. Sunday, Vernon police received a call about a "suspicious" vehicle that had been sitting on Box Mountain Road for about a half-hour, according to a report.

When officers located the vehicle in the road, it was running, the transmission was in drive and the lights were on, a report indicates.

The driver, a 31-year-old Vernon woman, was unresponsive after overdosing on heroin and it two two doses of Naloxone to revive her, according to a report. She had a suspended driver's license, police said.

Police then found six wax bags of fentanyl in the car.

After being taken to Rockville General Hospital, the woman was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and driving while under suspension, according to a report.
