Vernon Director of Pupil Personnel Moving On

Director of Pupil Personnel Patti Buell has accepted the position of Director of Education of the Hebron Public Schools, effective Aug. 1.

In this new position, she will be second in command in the district and will have many more responsibilities especially in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Buell has accomplished much in her long tenure in Vernon. She was the principal of Skinner Road School for many years and has completed her career in Vernon as the Director of Personnel combining both human resources and the supervision of pupil personnel. The special education and related services department has flourished under her leadership.

Vernon Public Schools now offers a wide continuum of services to meet the needs of the students while remaining flexible to adapt to new challenges. She created the human resources department and put procedures and protocols in place that will long serve the district.

“We are very grateful for her dedication and selfless service to the children of Vernon,” said Superintendent of Schools Mary P. Conway in a statement.

Conway has spoken with Vernon Superintendent-elect Joseph Macary and he would like the district to explore the possibility of an interim Director of Pupil Personnel.
