Vernon Good Friday/Easter Weekend Trash Schedule Posted

VERNON, CT — Here is the Vernon trash and recycling schedule for the long Easter weekend:

• The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Friday, April 2, in observance of Good Friday.
• Refuse and recycling will not be collected Friday. It will instead be collected on Monday, April 5, 2021 along with that day's collection.
• Residents should note that refuse and recycling carts should be out to the curb no later than 6 a.m. on collection day.
• Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station year round at no charge to Vernon residents. The hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
• The Transfer Station will be closed on Easter Sunday.
