A Vernon native and U.S. Marine recently deployed to the Helmand province in Afghanistan from Camp Lejeune, NC, with Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Regional Command (Southwest), in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
While in Afghanistan, Lance Cpl. Anthony Dougherty, a generator mechanic, will provide logistical support to forward deployed Marines, U.S. allies and advise the Afghan National Security Forces in developing their own logistical capabilities.
