
Robert P. Walsh, 88, of Vernon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Vernon Manor.
Born in New York City, New York, he was the son of the late James Walsh and Ann Elizabeth (O’Donnel) Walsh. Robert served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a mail room clerk for many years. He later was a janitor before becoming an elevator operator at the United Nations Building in New York City.

Robert was a very gentle soul and will be remembered by all for his “happy-go-lucky” personality, especially to the staff at both Woodlake at Tolland and Vernon Manor, who said he was a “joy to be with.”
His daughter, Elizabeth, has fond memories of him singing. Besides singing, he loved to listen to music, watch concerts on television, and loved animals.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Caballero and her husband Fulgencio Caballero of Vernon; and his step-grandson, Eric Cummings. He was predeceased by four siblings.
