Vernon Opening Its Virus Vaccine Clinics To All State Residents

VERNON, CT — The town of Vernon has opened its regular vaccination clinics to anyone in the state.

The town has already vaccinated thousands through a partnership with Ellington-based priority Urgent Care and it's mobile vaccination unit. Clinics have been stages at places like houses or worship, the local senior center, a mobile home park for the elderly and social services agencies.

The mobile unit has visited a variety of local business to administer shots though the Vernon Getting Vax To Business campaign.

Municipal officials said it's time to expand the offerings to anyone who lives or works in Connecticut aged 18 and older.

"Because of the greater availability of vaccines, we still have openings," Vernon Town Administrator Michael Purcaro said Wednesday.

Several clinics have been slated both this week and next week.

All clinics can be accessed through the town of Vernon website:

A "live" person can be reached via the Vernon Vaccination Call Center at 860-896-4568.

"We will also continuing our mobile clinics that are intended to reach vulnerable communities," Purcaro added.

Vernon has been utilizing the Moderna vaccine.
