Vernon Police Now Investigating 2 Fatal Crashes This Week

VERNON, CT — Vernon had its second deadly motor vehicle crash this week on Friday after an accident on Route 83.

Police reported a collision between a motorcycle and car at about 9 p.m. near Tractor Supply.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at scene, police said.

Route 83 was closed between the Wilshire and Merline intersections for about three hours.

The crash is still under investigation, as is a fatal pedestrian crash on Phoenix Street that took place Tuesday.
