As the new academic year fast approaches, the Vernon Parks & Recreation Department is planning to run an after school program for students in grades K-5.
The program will take place Monday-Friday, after school-6 p.m. at the Center Road School, Maple Street School, Northeast School and Skinner Road School, according to a post on the Hartford Courant Web site.
"The average day consists of: Homework time; Fitness, new and fun ways to achieve physical fitness; Sports, different sports will be introduced; Snack, a nutritional snack with juice; Arts and Crafts each day," reads the post.
