Vernon Restaurant Offering Free Thanksgiving Dinner
A Vernon restaurant known for its soul food is making a gesture from the heart with a free Thanksgiving dinner.

VERNON, CT — A Restaurant in the Downtown Rockville section of Vernon known for its soul food is making a Thanksgiving gesture from the heart by opening its doors for a free dinner.
The premise, according to owner Craig Wright, is to provide a meal "for anyone who needs one."
"We are going to start a new trend ... This is the first of many events to come," Wright said on the Craig's Kitchen Facebook page.

Craig's will be open from noon to 3 p.m.

"We, like a lot of you," genuinely want to bring our community closer, and we want to set a great example for the next generations," Wright said.

Donations came from as far away as Chicago and Florida and the Skinner Road School staff donated more than 200 pounds of potatoes to Craig’s Kitchen to support the Thanksgiving dinner.
Craig's is located at 13 West Main Street in the Rockville section of Vernon.
