Vernon Student-Athlete Garners Football Honor

A student-athlete from Vernon has been named a 2019-20 Scholar Athlete by a prestigious football organization.

VERNON, CT — Thomas Rhoades of Rockville High School has been named among 16 Scholar-Athletes for 2019-20 by the Doc Boisoneau Northern Connecticut Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

The DBNCCNFF is a nonprofit educational organization that runs programs designed to use the power of amateur football in developing scholarship, citizenship and athletic achievement in high school football scholar-athletes.

Due to concerns over the new coronavirus pandemic, the 54th Scholar-Athlete Award Banquet will be a virtual presentation to honor the inductees. The virtual presentation will be Sunday, May 17 at 1 p.m.
