Vernon Summer Concert Series To 'Safely' Launch

Vernon's Summer concert series is set to begin at Henry Park.

VERNON, CT — Mayor Daniel Champagne and the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department have announced the kickoff for Vernon's 2020 Summer Concert Series on Aug. 6.

Concerts are slated to take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Henry Park, located at 120 South St., near the picnic area by McCoy Field. Sponsors are Santini Villa Apartments/The Grand Lofts and the Vernon Arts Commission.

  • The series launches on Thursday, Aug. 6, with the Top 40 band, "Kick," taking the stage.
  • The second concert takes place on Thursday, Aug. 13 and will feature "Shaded Soul" playing a blend of soul, funk and rhythm & blues favorites.

Attendees should bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Those attending will be required to wear masks, unless seated for the performance.

Concert seating is limited to "field capacity" and the Parks and Recreation Department
is encouraging attendees to remain at least 15 feet from other families.
