Vernon's July In The Sky Fireworks Show Officially Back For 2021

Vernon's annual July in the Sky fireworks show will have events at Henry Park and Downtown Rockville in 2021.

VERNON, CT — Vernon's annual July in the Sky fireworks celebration is officially on for 2021.

The date is June 30and the rain date is July 7.

Henry Park will close at 4 p.m. on the afternoon before the show to allow crews to set up the activities. Access to the Fox Hill area will be restricted all day, town officials said.

The park will reopen at 6 p.m. The entry fee for cars will be $5 and $1 for people walking in. Those leaving the park will be charged for re-entry, officials said.

A concert is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. by The Reminisants, an oldies cover band.

The fireworks show is slated to feature more than 1,500 shells and will begin between 9:20 and 9:30 p.m., according to the schedule.

There will be FunZone activities, at an additional charge, in Henry Park.

Traditional July 4-themed activities like the annual Push, Pedal and Pull Patriotic Parade, Big Jim's Great Foam Machine, live music, food, bounce houses and games are planned for downtown Rockville too.

Both the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department and the Rockville Community Alliance are looking for sponsors for the event.
