VERNON, CT — Wednesday evening's quick-hit rain and wind storm left some damage as it passed through Vernon.

Several reports of downed branches and trees were scattered about town as the storm came in a about 6 p.m.

The biggest impact seemed to come from a tree that landed across Dart Hill Road, precariously close to the Route 83 intersection near the Walgreens and Panda Palace driveways.

Traffic was diverted for about a half-hour as a tree crew went to the area and cleared the road.
