Youth Charged In Case Of Vandalism At School In Vernon
A juvenile has been arrested by Vernon police in a local vandalism case.

VERNON, CT — A juvenile has been charged with second-degree criminal mischief in a case of vandalism at a Vernon elementary school.
Police are not required to release the name of the child, citing state law, but they did say a juvenile had been arrested in the case.
Less than a week into the summer vacation, the Center Road School playground was vandalized. School system officials turned the case over to Vernon police, who reviewed surveillance images.

The youth visited the CRS playground with gold spray paint and scribbled on a pair of signs and some of the slides, police said. There was no discernible message to the spray painting.
The equipment has since either been painted over or replaced.
