2 Hit By Vehicle While Changing Flat Tire: Wallingford Police
A vehicle left the scene after hitting two people who were changing a flat tire, according to police.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Two people were hospitalized after they were hit by a vehicle while changing a flat tire Saturday in Wallingford, according to police.
Police received several 911 calls around 5:10 p.m. reporting a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident involving two pedestrians, according to Lt. Cheryl Bradley.
The accident happened in the area of 243 Cook Hill Road. A man and a woman were in the road changing a flat tire when a vehicle hit them, according to Bradley. The vehicle stopped briefly for a short distance ahead but then continued heading west, Bradley said.

Both victims were taken to the hospital with injuries that didn’t appear to be life-threatening, Bradley said.
One of the victims and a witness described the evading vehicle as a silver-colored sedan. Bradley said the vehicle should have damage to the front quarter panel on the passenger side, including a broken headlamp lens.
