Anthem Makes Additional $100K Donation To Local Organizations
Wallingford-based Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of CT is donating $1.5M to combat food insecurity & support mental health in the state.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford-based Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Connecticut is helping to combat food insecurity and support mental health in the state by donating an additional $100,000 this month to four local organizations, according to officials.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Connecticut, in partnership with its foundation, is increasing its total commitment in the state to $1.5 million with an additional $100,000 donation across four organizations focused on food insecurity and mental health in Connecticut including Hartford Behavioral Health, Hartford Communities That Care, Connecticut Food Bank and Foodshare.
The increased donation was one of the first actions taken by Anthem’s new local president, Lou Gianquinto.

“When I joined as president of Anthem in Connecticut earlier this year, I quickly recognized the deep commitment we have to the communities where our members live and work,” Gianquinto said. “Building on this commitment, we looked at areas where we believed we could make a difference right now, and we decided to provide this additional donation to organizations on the front lines of tackling food insecurity and supporting mental health in our communities. Thank you to Hartford Behavioral Health, Hartford Communities That Care, Connecticut Food Bank and Foodshare for the amazing work you are doing every day.”
