WALLINGFORD, CT - A black bear found roaming around Choate Rosemary Hall Saturday morning was tranquilized, according to a report in the Record-Journal.

The bear was spotted just before 8 a.m. in the area of North Main Street and Lupine Street before it wandered to campus grounds, where it eventually climbed up a tree, police told the Journal. Police contacted the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection who tranquilized the bear in order to relocate it back into the wild.

The bear was secured by DEEP by 12:30 p.m.
