Driver Crashes Into Ambulance, Runs From Scene: Wallingford PD
Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck who crashed into an ambulance and ran away from the scene Saturday night in Wallingford.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck who crashed into an ambulance and ran away from the scene Saturday night in Wallingford.
Police responded to the area of 21 North Plains Industrial Road around 8:20 p.m. on the report of a crash with a vehicle leaving the scene, according to Lt. Cheryl Bradley.
A Hunter’s Ambulance was traveling north on North Plains Industrial Road with the driver and a passenger inside, according to Bradley. As the driver was turning left into a parking lot, a black Ford pickup truck was traveling north in the southbound lane and struck the ambulance, Bradley said.

Police determined the driver of the pickup truck entered the southbound lane to pass several vehicles in the northbound lane, according to Bradley. The driver then ran from the scene, Bradley said.
There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the crash. The driver and passenger weren’t seriously injured in the crash, but the ambulance was heavily damaged and towed from the scene, according to Bradley.

Police are investigating to determine the identity of the pickup truck and an arrest warrant will be prepared, Bradley said.
