Gaylord LPN Award Presented to Wallingford Resident

Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, a nonprofit rehabilitation-focused healthcare system based in Wallingford, presented its inaugural LPN Clinical Excellence Award to Wallingford resident Jessica Mancini, LPN.

Mancini was nominated by many of her nursing colleagues who have called her “the ultimate team player with a heart of gold” who “never sits down because she is always helping patients.”

“Jessica seeks out extra work to decrease the workload of her team,” wrote one of her peers. “She is positive, is a great communicator, and completes all tasks in a timely manner. Jessica has great interpersonal skills with patients and staff. Her patients are always smiling when she walks into their rooms. She is truly an asset to Gaylord.”

Mancini, who joined Gaylord last December in a newly formed “float pool” designed to support staffing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, said that she is “grateful and fortunate” to work at a place with an “amazing atmosphere.”

“Everyone at Gaylord works together to do what is best for our patients,” she said. “It is incredibly gratifying to be able to be a part of this team and help our patients make incredible gains during their recoveries here.”
