Grant Funds Music Therapy Program for Gaylord Patients

$20,000 grant marks the second consecutive year that The Rea Charitable Trust has funded program.

Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, a rehabilitation-focused, nonprofit health system, is pleased to announce that The Rea Charitable Trust in Texas has provided a $20,000 grant in support of the Gaylord Specialty Healthcare Music Therapy Program.

The grant marks the second consecutive year that The Rea Charitable Trust, which is committed to the promotion of the arts, has funded Gaylord’s Music Therapy Program. In 2018, the Trust provided a $20,000 grant to support the program’s launch and fund the addition of a certified music therapist to provide music therapy at the bedside of Gaylord’s sickest and most injured patients and lead group music therapy sessions.

More than 200 inpatients benefited from the program last year, a number that Gaylord staff expect to increase to an additional 300 this coming year.
