Local Funeral Director MacDonald is New President of State Assn.
Owner of Wallingford Funeral Home and Yalesville Funeral Home

David W. MacDonald, CFSP, CPC, CCO, of Wallingford is the new President of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA). He previously served as CFDA’s Vice President and Secretary.
MacDonald is the President of Wallingford Funeral Home at 809 North Main Street Ext. in Wallingford and Yalesville Funeral Home at 386 Main St. in Yalesville. He became a licensed funeral director/embalmer in 1999 after receiving his professional schooling from the New England Institute of Mortuary Science at Mount Ida College in Dedham, Mass. He began his funeral service career in his teens working with his uncle, David T. Warren, at Thomas E. Fitzgerald Funeral Home (established in Wallingford, Conn. in 1934) which now does business as Wallingford Funeral Home and Yalesville Funeral Home.
MacDonald is recognized as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. He is a CPC (Certified Planning Consultant) from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), making him qualified to help families plan appropriate and customized services, manage funding options and ensure consumer protection for the families he serves. His CCO designation indicates that he completed the NFDA’s Certified Crematory Operator program. In addition, he holds a degree in Business Management from Quinnipiac University.

A lifelong Wallingford resident, MacDonald is a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church, a Third Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Pinta Council #5, a member of the Wallingford Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge No. 1365, the Wallingford Country Club. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons.
