Man Fatally Stabbed Outside Bar In Wallingford: Police

A man has been charged with murder after police said he fatally stabbed another man during a fight outside a bar in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Meriden man has been charged with murder after police said he fatally stabbed another man during a fight outside a bar Saturday night in Wallingford.

Police responded to the parking lot of the Corner Café, 321 Church St. in the Yalesville section of Wallingford, around 10:25 p.m. on the report of a serious assault, according to Lt. Cheryl Bradley.

Arriving units found the victim lying on the ground, bleeding from what appeared to be numerous stab wounds, Bradley said. They attempted life-saving measures, however, the victim died from his injuries on the way to the hospital, according to Bradley.

The victim has been identified as Ernest Cipolli III, 32, of Wallingford.

Police determined that Cipolli and another man, later identified as 23-year-old Kristopher Carlson, had a fight in the parking lot of the Corner Café, according to Bradley.

“The altercation turned deadly when Carlson approached Cipolli and stabbed him numerous times with a knife,” Bradley wrote in a news release. “Carlson left the scene, but, was subsequently located and taken into custody.”

Carlson, of Reservoir Avenue, has been charged with murder and is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 1.
