Moe's Southwest Grill to Open in Wallingford This Month

The restaurant chain will fill the void left by the departure of Pocket Wireless.

Moe's Southwest Grill, a "fast-casual" restaurant best known for its burritos, will open in Wallingford this month.

Moe's franchise owners Bruce Steminsky, David Thuermer and Craig Shamlian will open the restaurant at 970 N. Colony Road on Thursday, August 8.

The restaurant will be located in the former Pocket Wireless building, which is located in the Route 5 plaza that also houses the Holiday Stadium 10 Cinemas, Oriental Express, Breugger’s Bagels and the Wood-n-Tap, among other stores.

The concept of Moe’s is to serve fresh, high quality ingredients in a fun-filled energetic atmosphere,” said Steminsky. “Through our local charity support program, we look forward to becoming an integral part of the community and believe Moe’s will turn out to be the fresh new favorite in town.”

Moe’s is a relatively new food chain, having started in 2000 in Atlanta, GA, according to the company’s website. There are other locations in Connecticut, including in West Hartford, Glastonbury, Hartford and Mansfield.
