WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Eleanor M. DeBaise, 92, beloved wife of the late Michael J. "Mickey" DeBaise, of West Dayton Hill Road, Wallingford, died at home Thursday, July 1, 2021.

Eleanor had shared this home with her son Michael J. DeBaise Jr. and his wife Vienna A. DeBaise for the better part of thirty years. Their son Zachary M. DeBaise and his wife Melita Lihziz DeBaise of Austin TX were quite simply life's crowning achievement in Eleanor’s eyes.

Her only lament was "they live so far away ".

FaceTime did help, especially this year past.

Born in Meriden, February 16, 1929, the elder daughter of the late Ralph DeSapio and Madeline Gallino DeSapio, Eleanor began a lifelong friendship with younger sister Marie Gomes of Wallingford.

Weekly dinners with Michael, Vienna and Marie became a mainstay in Eleanor's life when Mickey passed.

She is survived by nieces Linda Spignesi and husband John T. Spignesi of Meriden, and Cathleen Labombard and husband Rod Labombard of Meriden.

A homemaker for Mickey and Michael, Eleanor was especially proud to be part of the DeBaise Family, and is survived by Pasquale and Lillian DeBaise and Dolores Slavinski, all of Wallingford, Bernice DeBaise of North Haven, and Anthony and Patricia DeBaise of Christmas FL, and many nieces and nephews.

While most of Eleanor's friends have long past she is survived by longtime friend and Vienna's mom, Lorraine Sturm of New Haven, and Vienna's sister Tracy DeLeone and husband Vincent DeLeone of Wallingford.

Her Family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday at 9am. At 10:15 the funeral cortege will proceed to the Church of the Resurrection, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am.

Internment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.

Eleanor would be pleased that gifts in her memory be made to St. Jude's Childrens' Hospital (www.st.jude.org).
