Obituary: Lorraine (Smietana) Horton, 95, of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Lorraine (Smietana) Horton, 95, of Wallingford, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.

She was the loving wife of the late Emerson Horton.

Lorraine was born in Meriden, June 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Thomas and Irene (Gagnon) Smietana.

Lorraine worked many years at Wallingford Daycare and as a caregiver for the Wallingford Visiting Nurses Association.

She is survived by her children, Scott Horton, Valarie Rainone, Diane Horton and Thomas Horton; her six grandchildren; and her six great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her infant great grandson, Logan Christopher; and her sister, Shirley Podgorski.

Funeral services and interment in the State Veterans’ Cemetery in Middletown will be private.
