Obituary: Patricia “Pat” Hornyak, 79, of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Patricia “Pat” Hornyak, 79, of Wallingford, CT, wife of John Hornyak for 59 years, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2021 at Masonicare Health Center with her husband by her bedside.

She was born and raised in Duquesne, PA and resided with her husband in Wallingford, CT for nearly 60 years.

Pat enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and bingo, and gardening. Perhaps her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandkids.

She enjoyed telling stories to family and friends, or anyone else she met, about her children and grandchildren’s exploits. She will especially be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her son, George Hornyak, his wife, Kathy and their son, Jack of Wellesley, MA; her son, Mark Hornyak, his wife, Nancy, and their children, Julia, Nate, Bailey and Cole of Clinton, CT; and her sister, Roberta “Bobbi” Robbe and her husband, Mike of Export, PA.

The family would like to thank the staff of Masonicare Health Center for their efforts and gentle care.

Pat’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main Street, Yalesville, CT on Friday, June 4th from 4 to 6 PM.

A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to honor her memory with a donation to the charity of your choice.
