Obituary: Silvestre C. Pereira, 68, of Wallingford
Silvestre, known for his passion for work, was an avid soccer fan and genuinely enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Silvestre C. Pereira, 68, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his beloved family on Thursday, May 27, 2021. He was the loving husband of Rosa (Couto) Pereira.
He was born in Portugal on June 2, 1952 to the late Antonio and Maria (Carreiro) Pereira. Silvestre served in the military for the country of Portugal, prior to starting his journey in the United States of America.
He had a strong passion for work and was truly happiest when he was building, working on projects, or landscaping for family, friends, and around his own home.
He genuinely enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed soccer as a sport, whether it was watching his favorite team Benfica on TV or cheering on his kids on the field.
He suffered a spinal cord injury in August of 2007, that halted his ability to continue his passions but allowed him to be present for many milestones in the lives of his family members.
His life presented him with many challenges but he consistently showed his hard-working nature by working through his struggles on a daily basis.
In addition to his wife Rosa, he is survived by his children, Danny Pereira, Elizabeth Pereira and Matthew Pereira; his siblings, Jose (Urselina) Pereira, Antonio (Ermelinda) Pereira, his twin, Jamie (Ana) Pereira, Maria Teresa (Andrez) Komar, Angelo (Natalia) Pereira, and Durval (Gloria) Pereira; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Joao and Maria de Jesus Pereira.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Monday, May 31st from 4 to 7 pm.
Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home Tuesday morning starting at 9:30am before processing to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am.
Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. Masks are required at all services.
