WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) William V. Tagliatela, 82, of Wallingford, loving husband of the late Maureen (Gildea) Tagliatela, passed away peacefully June 9, 2021 at Regency House with family by his side.

He was born in New Haven on March 8, 1939, a son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Papavero) Tagliatela.

He was named Venturo as a tribute to an uncle who passed away prior to his birth.

Bill worked as a carpenter with Local 24 and worked hard to provide a good life for his wife and four children. He always had a great story to tell. His stories of “the good ole days,” cars “made back when Detroit knew how to build them” and the various destinations he visited with his wife will truly be missed.

Bill’s home was always alive with music, the radio was always on. Although he listened to many genres of music, his heart belonged to “Doo Wop” from the fabulous 50’s.

Bill is survived by his son, William Tagliatela and his wife, Maureen, of Simsbury; his daughters, Lisa Kowalski and her husband, Scott, of Meriden, Lynn Van Deusen and her husband, Thomas, of Southbury and Amy Manning and her husband, Stephen, of Newmarket, NH; his grandchildren, Aaron and Evan Kowalski, both of Meriden, Audrey, Charlotte and Liam Tagliatela, all of Simsbury, Corwin, Ayden and Faelan Van Deusen, all of Southbury and Lillian, Melody, Griffen and Jasper, all of Newmarket, NH; and his sister Delores. He is predeceased by his sisters, Angelina, Josephine and his brother, Anthony.

Bill's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2 pm until 4 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated directly at Most Holy Trinity Church at 11 am on Monday, June 14, 2021. You can view his funeral Mass via livestream by going to his webpage at www.wallimgfordfh.com at 11 am on Monday.
