Wallingford Police Investigating Vandalism At The Center Street Cemetery

The Wallingford Police Department is investigating vandalism at the Center Street Cemetery.

The Record Journal reports that water was poured into the fuel tank of a backhoe at the site and pieces of metal were scattered around the grass at the graveyard. Police believe the metal was scattered around to damage lawn mowers, according to the newspaper.

The Center Street Cemetery is east of the Johanna Manfreda Fishbein Park and is the resting place of early American settlers, some as early as 1673.
