Stop & Shop Celebrates Grand Reopening In Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — Stop & Shop recently celebrated the grand reopening of its Wallingford store at 930 North Colony Rd.

Stop & Shop unveiled its newly remodeled store on Feb. 19. The updates are centered around delivering fresh, healthy, and convenient options that make grocery shopping easier for local customers, according to officials.

The grand reopening “revealed a newly expanded produce section with a greater variety of organic and locally sourced fruit and vegetables, the addition of easy meal solutions and quick, grab-and-go meal options including new flatbread pizza made in-store, and Same Day Online Pickup, which provides local customers with a faster and more convenient way to shop for groceries,” according to a news release.

Some customers who visited the store for the grand reopening weekend from Feb. 19 through Feb. 21 enjoyed bonus Stop & Shop GO Rewards Points, giveaways, samples, and a pre-packaged slice of celebratory cake to take home, while supplies lasted.

To celebrate Stop & Shop’s commitment to supporting the community, the store donated $1,000 to the Master’s Manna Food Pantry, an organization supporting the homeless, near homeless, low to moderate income families and residents who face food insecurity in the greater Wallingford and Meriden area.

“We’re pleased to offer our local customers a more robust, convenient, and healthy grocery shopping experience,” said Joseph Marino, store manager of the Wallingford Stop & Shop. “We’re also extremely proud to support our community including those serviced by the Master’s Manna Food Pantry. As the needs of neighbors continue to evolve, our offerings and support will too.”

Additional highlights of the newly remodeled store include:

• Updated produce department, featuring more ways to eat well with a greater variety of locally sourced, organic, and fresh fruit and vegetables
• Enhanced bakery department, for those with a sweet tooth
• Additional easy meal solutions and grab-and-go options, such as flatbread pizzas and sushi made in-store daily, for those spending more time cooking and entertaining at home
• Same Day Online Pickup for customers who would like to shop from the convenience of their computer or smartphone via StopandShop.com or the Stop & Shop mobile app

The newly remodeled store is welcoming new customers to its updated pharmacy for all their health needs. The pharmacy offers immunization services administered by their team of trained and trusted pharmacists, as well as diabetes care such as medication review and consultations, insulin injection demonstrations, glucose monitoring training, and dietary advice.

Additionally, the newly remodeled store now offers same day Online Pickup, providing local customers with a “faster and more convenient way to shop with pickup available in as little as four hours,” according to the news release.

Customers can now place an order on the Stop & Shop mobile app, or visit StopandShop.com click on “Order Online'' and select “Pickup” at the Wallingford location, head to the store, and have a Stop & Shop associate load their groceries right into their car. Customers new to Pickup can receive the service free for 90 days by entering SSFREEPICKUP at checkout.
