More than 30 Cheshire Academy students will continue their athletic careers at college in the fall. That’s the highest number of students to achieve that goal in the Academy’s recent history.
One of those athletes is Alec Keener, of Wallingford, who will play football for US Naval Academy Preparatory School which readies students for the U.S. Naval Academy.
“It proved to be a record-setting year. We provided student athletes at Cheshire Academy the opportunity to pursue their dreams to play at a college level, in either Division I, II, or III,” said Athletic Director Brett Torrey.

This has been a banner year for Cheshire Academy athletics, in more ways than one. In addition to the strong college listings below, in just one year, the Academy has celebrated seven New England tournament appearances, Torrey said.
Those appearances have yielded five championships since May 2013. Championship teams for this academic year include volleyball, boys basketball, football and softball, with the softball team earning their championship title for the second year in a row.
