Wallingford DTC issues a statement on Atlanta Tragedy
As Community Leaders hate and prejudice cannot be met with Silence

Hate crimes are on the rise across the United States. Recent focus has centered on the rise of violence against our Asian American neighbors and friends. Violence against gender, sexual preference, ethnicity, religion and the color of one’s skin cannot be met with silence.
As Community Leaders the Wallingford Democratic Town Committee issued the following statement on Monday:
Soon Chung Park, age 74
Hyun Jung Grant, age 51
Sun Cha Kim, age 69
Yong Ae Yue, age 63
Delaina Ashley Yaun, age 33
Paul Andre Michels, age 54
Xiaojie Tan, age 49
Daoyou Feng, age 44
On March 16, 2021, 8 individuals, 6 of whom were Asian women, were murdered at three spas in Atlanta, GA. These acts were racially targeted and uphold white supremacy.
The Wallingford DTC mourns the lives taken and stands in support of the Asian American community, urging everyone to speak up against Asian hate and domestic terrorism.
