Wallingford Elementary School Closing For Full Distance Learning
The school is temporarily switching to full distance learning due to the impact on staffing levels due to the coronavirus, officials said.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Cook Hill Elementary School in Wallingford is temporarily switching to full distance learning for all students to due to the impact on staffing levels due to the coronavirus, officials announced Thursday.
Cook Hill will be closed to in-person learning starting Friday, March 12 with students scheduled to return to in-person classes on Tuesday, March 16. All students will follow the full distance learning schedule while the school is closed.
Lunch will still be provided for pickup for students at Sheehan High School each day. It is also available at the HUBCAP on Center Street, according to Superintendent of Schools Salvatore Menzo.

“We understand that this is an added burden to families,” Menzo said in an email to parents. “We sincerely apologize for that; however, we need enough staff to appropriately perform all of the necessary functions of the school.
“We appreciate your support and understanding in these challenging times.”
