Wallingford Mayor Seeking 20th Consecutive Term

Republican William Dickinson Jr., who has been mayor since 1984, continued his tradition of dressing in costume when making the announcement

WALLINGFORD, CT — Longtime Wallingford Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. recently announced he is running for re-election and seeking a 20th consecutive term in office, according to the Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports Dickinson, a 38-year incumbent, continued his tradition of dressing in costume when he announced his intentions at last week’s Republican Town Committee meeting.

Dickinson dressed in a work apron and work belt with a hammer, pliers and other tools to represent the “work that has to be done,” according to the Record-Journal.

Both the Republican and Democratic town committees will hold their nominating conventions in July.
